Quetta to receive 21 Green, 4 Pink buses to improve public transit

QUETTA: Dr. Faisal Ahmed Khan, Chief of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Unit Balochistan, announced that 21 new green buses and 4 pink buses exclusively for women are expected to reach provincial capital by June.

Dr Faisal said this while talking to local media outlet, he added that the initiative was taken as per the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, adding that the provincial government is fully committed to enhancing urban transportation under the PPP model.

He informed that currently, eight green buses are operating in Quetta, catering to over 8,000 passengers daily and the arrival of 21 more green buses and 4 pink buses will significantly increase this number.

He further said that the pink buses are specifically intended to improve mobility for women in Quetta, addressing safety concerns and providing a dignified public transport option.

Dr Faisal expressed optimism that the improved transport system will have a positive social and environmental impact on Quetta.
