Pakistan and India’s DGMOs talk on the hotline

Pakistan and India’s DGMOs talk on the hotline

ISLAMABAD: The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Pakistan and India held a rare conversation via the hotline, marking the first direct military contact since the recent ceasefire agreement. The first round of the conversation has come to an end.

According to Indian media sources, this communication took place amid heightened tensions and is considered a significant development in the wake of the recent escalation between the two countries.

India had accused Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam attack last month.

In response, Pakistan not only categorically denied the allegations but also demanded credible evidence and offered to conduct a neutral investigation.

However, India rejected Pakistan’s proposal and escalated the situation by launching missile and drone attacks targeting civilian areas inside Pakistani territory.

Pakistan’s measured yet forceful retaliation reportedly shifted the dynamics on the ground, prompting India to approach the United States to help facilitate a ceasefire.

This hotline exchange between the DGMOs is being viewed as a step toward easing military tensions, though the situation remains fragile.
