RAWALPINDI: The PCB has decided to relocate Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 remaining matches to Karachi due to the ongoing tensions between Pakistan and India.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi at Gaddafi Stadium and attended by franchises of the PSL.
Earlier, the Pakistan Army media wing, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), said it shot down 25 Indian drones in multiple cities. Of these, three were downed in Rawalpindi. One of them crashed in the food street, adjourned to the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Officials familiar with the matter said the situation is further complicated by the partial closure of airspace around Rawalpindi, which may affect team logistics and crowd safety.
“There is a real possibility that today’s match will be postponed,” a source close to the PCB told local media. “The safety of all stakeholders is the top priority, and we are in close consultation with the Ministry of Interior.”
Sources further indicated that the future of other PSL 10 matches may also be under review depending on the evolving security scenario.
