ISLAMABAD: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a stern warning, stating that if India chooses to escalate the current conflict, it could lead to a nuclear war.
Speaking exclusively to Geo News, Asif emphasized that in such a scenario, full responsibility would lie with India.
This warning follows Pakistan’s strong military response to India’s overnight aggression, during which the Pakistan Air Force shot down five Indian aircraft and destroyed a key brigade headquarters. Pakistan’s armed forces also targeted and destroyed multiple Indian checkpoints, with video evidence shared by the Director General of ISPR.
Meanwhile, the National Security Committee (NSC) has granted Pakistan’s military full authority to respond to Indian aggression.
According to the official statement, under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, Pakistan reserves the right to self-defense and will respond at a time, place, and manner of its choosing to the killing of innocent civilians and the violation of its sovereignty.
The NSC reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace with dignity, stating that the nation will never compromise on its sovereignty, territorial integrity, or the protection of its proud people.
Meanwhile addressing a joint session of Parliament, The Prime Minister stated that India launched attacks under the cover of the recent Pahalgam incident, yet an FIR was mysteriously registered only ten minutes after the event.
He recalled that while he was in Ankara, he had received news of the Pahalgam incident.
“We immediately demanded a transparent and credible investigation, and expressed full cooperation with any international commission.

But India rigidly mocked the demand,” he added. He reiterated that groups like BLA and TTP are directly linked to India and said Pakistan has already provided solid evidence of this involvement.
