NEW DELHI: The Indian airlines were facing difficult time to continue the flight operation, suffered losses worth crores due to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace after the tension increases between the two neighboring countries in wake of Pahalgam incident.
According to reports, the Indian government is deeply worried about the closure of Pakistan’s airspace for Indian aircraft, a meeting of Indian airlines was held under the chairmanship of the Indian Aviation Minister, where it was reported that the business of Air India, SpiceJet, Akasa Air, Indigo Air, Air India Express and other Indian airlines has come to a halt.
The meeting was informed that 800 Indian flights per week have been affected due to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace.
Reports added that the major Indian airlines including Air Indigo has suspended its Central Asia flight operations. Indian airlines’ flights from North India to West Asia, Europe, the UK and the US are also severely affected due to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace for Indian aircrafts.

The Indian minister has refused to provide immediate financial assistance to Indian airlines and directed airlines to prepare alternative route plans for a period of six months to one year in the event of closure of Pakistan’s airspace.
Reports said that in 2019, Indian airlines had suffered a loss of 700 crore Indian rupees due to the closure of Pakistan’s airspace.
