Death toll in Nushki oil tanker blast jumps to 20

QUETTA: The death toll of Nushki oil tanker explosion raised to six as two more victims of the tragic incident succumbed to their injuries.

The officials have confirmed that the deceased have been identified as Jahanzeb Anwar and Jahanzeb, son of Muhammad Anwar, both residents of Nushki.

The victims were shifted to hospital after the incident and they were receiving treatment for burn injuries but could not survive due to the severe burn injuries.

It is worthy to be mentioned here, last week the deadly Nushki oil tanker incident occurred when a powerful explosion inside an oil tanker sparked a massive fire.

The flames spread rapidly after the explosion and engulfed nearby areas, injuring dozens of people. Most of the injured sustained critical burns and some of the critical injured were shifted to Karachi for treatment care.

The rescue teams had rushed to the site immediately after the explosion and started a firefighting and evacuation operation. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

The provincial government has showed deep sorrow over the incident and promised support to the victims and their families. Balochistan government also ordered a detailed inquiry to determine the exact cause of the horrific incident.
