QUETTA: Security forces have killed six suspected militants affiliated with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and arrested five suspected Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants during a joint intelligence-based operation in northern Balochistan, according to an official statement.
The operation was carried out in several areas of Pishin and Qila Abdullah districts, including Killi Sultan, Ajram, Dinar and Gilo, following intelligence reports about the presence and movement of militants.
Security forces targeted multiple militant hideouts simultaneously in the two districts. The operation resulted in the deaths of six suspected militants of BLA, also known as Fitna al Hindustan, while five suspected militants of TTP, also known as Fitna al Khawarij, were taken into custody, the statement said.
Officials said the operation disrupted a network allegedly involved in planning attacks, establishing hideouts and threatening security personnel and civilians in the region.
The operation also highlighted what authorities described as links between BLA and TTP networks operating in Balochistan. The statement further alleged that the militant networks receive foreign support, although such claims could not be independently verified.
Authorities said the coordinated action was aimed at restricting militant movement and dismantling their infrastructure while protecting local communities.
The security forces reiterated their commitment to pursuing militant groups across Balochistan and preventing attacks on civilians and security personnel.
According to the statement, the state maintains control across the province and will continue operations against groups that threaten peace and security.
