AJK's PM important announcement regarding the restoration of internet services in AJK

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani has announced that internet services across the region will be fully restored in phases within the next two days.

The first phase of restoration has already been completed, while further progress is expected during the second phase.

The government is working to restore connectivity across areas while taking local circumstances into consideration.

In this regard, the DSL internet services will be restored in Muzaffarabad, while internet connectivity will also be fully restored in Bhimber and Mirpur districts.

The prime minister said the second phase would cover a large number of areas across Azad Kashmir. Remaining areas will subsequently be included in the restoration process on a phased basis.

The announcement is expected to provide relief to residents, students, businesses and other internet-dependent sectors that have faced difficulties because of limited connectivity.

Gilani also clarified his previous remarks regarding internet restoration, saying that his earlier statement had not been presented in the correct context.

He explained that he had spoken about partial restoration and had also referred to educational institutions. He stressed that he had never stated that internet services would immediately be restored across the entire region.

According to the prime minister, restoration is being carried out through a phased mechanism rather than through an immediate region-wide reopening.

Government Seeks Public Cooperation

The AJK prime minister also spoke about the government’s 100-day reform plan, saying that its implementation would involve consultation with the public and relevant stakeholders.

He said the government was committed to advancing its reform agenda through consultation and coordination.
