BEIJING: Pakistan junior hockey team has officially qualified for the semi-finals of the ongoing Men’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup in China following a commanding 5-2 victory over Malaysia. During the crucial Pool B encounter, Malaysia initially seized the lead in the 9th minute through Muhammad Salehi, maintaining a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
However, Pakistan junior hockey team staged an extraordinary comeback in the second half. Nadeem Khan leveled the score in the 32nd minute, quickly followed by a 36th-minute goal from Abdullah Sami Rana.
Waleed Rana then dominated the turf with back-to-back goals in the 39th and 40th minutes, before Ali Hamza sealed the five-goal blitz in the 41st minute.
Although Malaysia struck back with a late goal in the 54th minute, the Green Shirts comfortably secured their third consecutive triumph.
