QUETTA: Security forces have stepped up operations against foreign-funded militants in Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna, targeting militant hideouts based on intelligence.
In the latest operation, security forces struck a hideout linked to Fitna al-Hindustan in Nushki district using a quadcopter drone armed with a mortar shell, security sources said.
The strike destroyed the hideout and killed at least seven militants, according to the sources.
The operation was launched after intelligence identified the hideout and the presence of militants inside it. The quadcopter delivered the mortar shell with precision, striking the target and eliminating the militants, the sources said.
Security sources identified the dead as members of a banned militant organisation. They said the militants of the Fitna al Hindustan were preparing attacks in the area.
The strike underscores the growing use of drone technology in intelligence-based counter-militancy operations. It also reflects the security forces’ efforts to target militant networks before they can carry out attacks.

Security forces are continuing intelligence-based operations across Balochistan to dismantle militant hideouts and disrupt planned attacks, the sources said.
