ISLAMABAD: Fuel Prices have been increased yet again across Pakistan. The price of petrol has been increased by 2.84 rupees per liter.
The new price of petrol has raised to 349 rupees per liter. The price of diesel has also been raised by 2.28 rupees per liter. The new price of diesel is now 274.31 rupees.
The Petroleum Division has issued a notification in this regard. The new fuel prices will be applicable till 4th September 2026.
It is worth mentioning that the fuel prices have been hiking for the past six months on account of the global strain in the Middle East.
The hike in the fuel prices has causes an immense impact on daily life of the common man. A massive rise in the inflation has been seen quite notably in the past six months or so.
Over the past six months, domestic petroleum prices have experienced extraordinary volatility, driven heavily by international crude market shocks and localized pricing mechanism shifts.
At the beginning of March 2026, petrol was hovering steadily around Rs. 266 to Rs. 321 per litre.
However, acute geopolitical disruptions—triggered by conflict in the Middle East starting in late February—sent global crude values soaring, pushing Pakistan’s domestic petrol prices to an unprecedented historic peak of Rs. 458.41 per litre by early April 2026.
As international markets gradually corrected and domestic authorities transitioned toward a more dynamic, frequent pricing structure, rates began to taper down through late spring and early summer, dipping below the Rs. 300 mark by June.
Throughout July and August, prices fluctuated within the Rs. 320 to Rs. 340 range as authorities implemented continuous adjustments.
Entering September 2026, petroleum rates experienced incremental upward revisions; current figures stand at Rs. 346.16 per litre for petrol and Rs. 372.03 per litre for high-speed diesel.
