DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Security forces killed four militants during a targeted operation in the Kalachi-Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan, security sources said.
The operation followed intelligence reports about the movement of militants from Kalachi towards Maddi.
Security forces launched the operation after receiving the information and engaged the militants in the area.
Two militants were killed at the scene, the sources said.
Three others sustained injuries during the exchange.
Two of the wounded militants, identified as Waheed Khan and Atifullah, later died from their injuries, according to the sources.
Security forces are continuing a search operation to locate the remaining injured militant who fled the area.
The operation remains ongoing as security personnel track the militants who escaped from the scene.
Authorities have stepped up efforts to prevent the remaining militants from regrouping or carrying out further attacks in the area.
