Man Gets Govt Job After 29-Year Wait in Balochistan

QUETTA  : Abdul Jabbar, who had been pursuing a government position for nearly three decades, has finally been appointed on a temporary basis after authorities intervened on grounds of merit and procedural compliance.

Commissioner of Naseerabad Division, Salahuddin Noorzai, issued the appointment orders following directives from the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Chief Secretary, officials confirmed.

Jabbar had completed the Patwari course in 1997 — a qualification for land record officials — and had been striving for a government posting ever since. His prolonged struggle spanning 29 years came to authorities’ attention, prompting the provincial leadership to review his case.

The appointment, described as temporary, was made strictly in accordance with existing rules and regulations, according to the commissioner’s office. No further details about the nature or duration of the posting were immediately disclosed.
