Iran Labels US Sanctions as “Economic Terrorism”

Iran Offers Gulf Nations New Regional Security Partnership

TEHRAN: Iranian officials have vehemently condemned the latest round of US economic sanctions as “economic terrorism,” vowing that the measures will ultimately fail just as previous American pressure campaigns have.

The escalating war of words comes after US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant announced what he described as “the toughest sanctions in history” against Iran, targeting the Islamic Republic’s economy and its ability to fund proxy groups across the Middle East.

Iran’s Dismissal of US Pressure

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi delivered a defiant response, stating that the most devastating sanctions imposed 14 years ago had proven unsuccessful, and the maximum pressure campaign launched 8 years ago had also failed to break Iran’s resolve.

“We have seen all this before — the same nonsense, only the characters have changed,” Araqchi declared, referring to repeated US attempts to force Iranian capitulation.

He specifically rejected what he called an “unconditional surrender condition” presented 5 months ago, asserting that today’s economic attack is equally destined to fail.
