Security Forces Kill Five Terrorists in Mastung Operation

QUETTA: Security forces killed five terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Mastung district of Balochistan on Monday, officials said.

Security forces carried out the operation after receiving intelligence about the presence of Indian-sponsored militants. The operation was conducted as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3 in Balochistan.

Troops used a quadcopter to strike identified militant positions. They then engaged the militants on the ground.

Security forces sources said that five terrorists were killed in Mastung operation.

Troops also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the site.

Earlier today, security forces killed two more terrorists in an intelligence-based operation near Basima in Balochistan.

One of those killed was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed, alias Kohyar. Officials described him as a high-value militant linked to Fitna al-Hindustan.

The operation took place in Killi Zaiq after intelligence indicated that militants were present in the area.

Three other terrorists were injured during the operation.

Troops recovered ammunition, hand grenades and material used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Security forces launched a follow-up search operation to find any remaining militants.

Officials said security operations would continue until the militant threat is eliminated from the area.

The latest operations came a day after security forces killed seven terrorists in Kharan district.

The operation took place in Lajay area of Kharan following intelligence about the presence of militants. Several other terrorists were also injured, officials said.

Pakistan has launched one of its largest counterterrorism operations Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 in response to a series of terrorist attacks earlier this month.

The operation, involving the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, police, intelligence agencies, and military helicopters, is primarily targeting the TTP, also known as Fitna al Khawarij and Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group designated as a terrorist organization by Pakistan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The BLA referred as Fitna al Hindustan.

Security forces launched Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 last month in response to a series of terrorist attacks.

The campaign involves intelligence-based operations and targeted raids across Balochistan.
