ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday approved the conferment of military awards upon 1,172 personnel of the Pakistan’s Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces on the occasion of 79th Independence Day.
The awards were approved on the recommendation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
As per details, President Asif Ali Zardari has approved a series of summaries sent by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, including military awards.
Moreover, President Asif Ali Zardari has also granted a 100-day remission to prisoners under specific categories in order to provide relief to inmates on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan and and Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
“The President granted the remission of the sentence under Article 45 of the Constitution of Pakistan,” the report read.
The president also approved the convening of the National Assembly and Senate on Aug. 17.
The National Assembly session will begin at 5 pm, while the Senate session will start at 6 pm.
The president further approved national awards for citizens from various fields of civil life.
