RAWALPINDI: According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces and law enforcement agencies have eliminated 18 terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan during intelligence-based operations following a premature explosive detonation in the Surab district of Balochistan.
On the morning of 12 August 2026, an under-preparation Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) detonated prematurely while being assembled by terrorists in the Surab District of Balochistan.
The initial blast resulted in the confirmed elimination of eight terrorists and multiple injuries.
Due to the secondary detonation of additional explosives stored at the site by the hostile elements, three nearby civilians suffered fatal casualties.
In immediate response, security forces and the Balochistan Police secured the site and launched a comprehensive joint clearance operation to track down fleeing perpetrators and facilitators.
During subsequent engagement, security forces detected the movement of escaping terrorists, successfully neutralizing ten additional operatives, bringing the total death toll of Fitna Al Hindustan terrorists to 18 in these operations.
During the intense exchange of fire, two brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army sustained injuries. Sanitization operations remain ongoing in the area to secure the vicinity completely.
The ISPR emphasized that the relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace by security forces and law enforcement agencies to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
