QUETTA : Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove conducted a surprise visit to various parts of Quetta on Friday to review security arrangements and assess the overall law and order situation in the provincial capital.
Accompanied by Special Assistant for the Home Department Babar Yousafzai, the minister visited Liaquat Bazaar, Kandahari Bazaar, Prince Road, Zarghoon Road, Sariab Road, Brewery Road, Gahi Chowk, Joint Road and several other areas. During the visit, Langove met shopkeepers and local residents to discuss the prevailing security situation and ongoing business activities. He also inspected security measures deployed across the city.
Expressing satisfaction with the security arrangements, the home minister said commercial activities in Quetta were continuing at full pace, normal life remained uninterrupted and traffic flow on major roads had not been affected. He said ensuring the safety and security of citizens and the business community remained the government’s foremost responsibility, adding that all relevant institutions were actively working to maintain law and order.
Langove urged the public not to pay attention to rumours or unverified reports and advised them to rely only on information issued through authentic and official sources. He reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and providing a secure environment for residents and businesses across the provincial capital.
The surprise visit comes amid heightened vigilance in the city, with security forces remaining on high alert to prevent any untoward incident. The home minister’s interaction with traders and citizens was seen as a step toward building public confidence and ensuring that business activities remain unaffected despite security challenges.
