QUETTA: Security forces have killed three militants during an operation against the Fitna al Hindustan group in Balochistan, security sources said.
The operation took place in the Kambila and Asimabad areas under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, the sources said.
Security forces also carried out search and sanitisation operations in the two areas. They cleared a total area of 68 square kilometres, according to the sources.
The operation killed three militants. Security forces recovered the bodies of two of them, the sources said.
Four other militants suffered injuries. They included militant commander Shaukat Mama, according to the sources.
Security forces also detained 12 suspected militants during the operation.
The forces destroyed militant hideouts and removed flags linked to Fitna al Hindustan, the sources said.
Security operations against militant groups in Balochistan are continuing, the sources added.
Security forces said Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 would continue until the complete elimination of militant threats.
