QUETTA: National Party chief and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Abdul Malik Baloch, has strongly opposed any tampering with the 18th Constitutional Amendment and the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award, while also rejecting proposals for creating new provinces.
Addressing a party-sponsored integration program in Quetta on Wednesday, Abdul Malik Baloch stated that Balochistan’s case has been formally placed before the federal government in Islamabad. He expressed confidence that the situation in the province could be significantly improved through the implementation of the points suggested by his party.
“The 1973 Constitution, the 18th Amendment, and the NFC Award should not be tampered with, and the idea of creating more provinces should be abandoned,” he asserted.
The National Party chief further emphasized the urgent need to strengthen local government institutions in Balochistan, arguing that devolution of power to the grassroots level was essential for sustainable development and better governance in the province.
