QUETTA: A laborer was killed and four others injured after unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade at road construction workers in Pakistan’s southwestern Chaman district, police said on Tuesday.
According to police, the workers were asleep when the attackers threw the grenade at their camp along a national highway construction site.
The injured were provided initial medical treatment before being shifted to Quetta for further care. Police said a search operation was underway to trace the attackers, and an investigation into the incident had been launched.
In a separate incident in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, four people were killed and seven others injured in two grenade explosions in Lakki Marwat district, police said.
In the Bahram Khel area, a grenade exploded inside a house, killing a man identified as Rashid, his sister-in-law and his young nephew. Three children were also injured in the blast and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said no case had been registered so far, and an investigation into the incident was continuing.
