QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has paid glowing tribute to police martyrs, describing them as the “great asset of the nation” and the “pride of Pakistan,” while reaffirming his government’s commitment to completing their sacred mission at all costs.
In a statement issued on Police Martyrs Day, the Chief Minister said that police personnel who laid down their lives for peace, rule of law, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property have created timeless stories of loyalty, bravery, and duty. “Their sacrifices are the foundation of our national history,” he asserted, adding that their contributions form a bright chapter that the nation will always remember with respect and honor.
Bugti noted that the Balochistan Police have been at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, extremism, and crime for many years. He credited the brave officers and soldiers for making unparalleled sacrifices for the establishment of peace, stability, and the protection of citizens. Thanks to these sacrifices, he said, the law and order situation in the province has improved, and the ambitions of terrorist elements are being thwarted.
Paying special tribute to the Ziarat police martyrs, the Chief Minister said these great sons, by sacrificing their lives while fighting terrorists, set an example of courage, perseverance, and patriotism that will always be remembered. He emphasized that their sacrifices are a source of pride for the entire nation and saluted the patience and resilience of their families.
On the welfare front, Bugti stated that the Balochistan government, considering the honor, welfare, and financial assistance of martyrs’ heirs as a state responsibility, has taken several practical steps. He assured that this process will be continued in a more effective manner, with education, health, and other needs of the martyrs’ children among the government’s top priorities.
The Chief Minister also announced that the government is investing heavily in capacity building, modern training, modern weapons, security equipment, technology, and infrastructure improvements for the police force to effectively tackle all kinds of security challenges.
“The sacrifices of the martyrs demand that we further strengthen our struggle against terrorism, extremism, and anti-state elements,” Bugti asserted. He reiterated that there will be no compromise on the establishment of peace, rule of law, and protection of lives and property in Balochistan, vowing that the sacred mission of the police martyrs will be completed at all costs.
He described Police Martyrs Day as an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of brave sons, express solidarity with their families, and renew the pledge that the blood of the martyrs will not go in vain. The Chief Minister called for unity among the government, police, law enforcement agencies, and the public to foil the nefarious designs of anti-peace elements forever.
