Government issued notification to reduce prices of petroleum products

Government issued notification to reduce fuel prices

ISLAMABAD: The government has announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products following the issuance of a notification by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs4.08 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has been cut by Rs2.45 per litre.

The revised prices will come into effect immediately in accordance with the notification issued by OGRA. The reduction is expected to provide some financial relief to motorists and transport operators amid ongoing inflationary pressures.

Meanwhile, these petroleum prices are only for 4th August, 2026.

Officials said the latest revision in petroleum prices was made after reviewing prevailing trends in the international oil market and other relevant economic factors. The adjustment forms part of the government’s regular fuel price review mechanism.

The decrease in diesel prices is also expected to have a positive impact on the transportation and agricultural sectors, where diesel is widely used. Meanwhile, the reduction in petrol prices is likely to benefit millions of commuters and private vehicle owners across the country.

The new petroleum prices will remain in force until the next official review, unless revised earlier by the relevant authorities.
