ISLAMABAD: The abduction, torture and killing of a pregnant woman in Awaran has triggered widespread condemnation, with statements accusing the banned Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) of involvement.
According to local accounts, the victim, identified as Rubina, was allegedly abducted during the night of July 20–21 from Awaran district. Her mutilated body was recovered on July 25 from the Kabri Kor stream.
The victim’s father alleged that a man identified as Akbar, son of Ghani, abducted his daughter with the assistance of members of the outlawed BLF. He claimed the armed men held her captive for several days, subjected her to torture and later killed her before dumping her body.
He called for a thorough investigation into the incident and urged authorities to bring those responsible to justice.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the BLF has not publicly responded to the claims.
Analysts said the reported killing, if confirmed, would constitute a serious violation of human rights and deepen fear among local communities. They said targeting women runs contrary to Baloch social traditions and basic humanitarian values.
