ISLAMABAD: England’s stellar wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler has moved past West Indian legend Chris Gayle in the all-time T20 runs list.
During a match between the Manchester Super Giants and London Spirit at Lord’s in “The Hundred,” a modest 16-run knock pushed Buttler’s career T20 tally to 14,572 runs, making him the second-highest run-scorer in T20 cricket history.
Chris Gayle has now slipped to third place with 14,562 runs.
Meanwhile, the all-time world record for the most T20 runs still belongs to West Indian all-rounder Kieron Pollard, who sits at the top with 14,803 runs.
Buttler currently trails the top spot by just 231 runs and could potentially claim the ultimate record during the ongoing season.
The 35-year-old Buttler also ranks third on the all-time leading run-scorers list in international T20 cricket.
