ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan cricket team will tour England in May 2027 to play a five-match One-Day International (ODI) series, providing both sides with valuable preparation ahead of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
The ODI series will be held from May 15 to May 26, 2027, with matches taking place across five renowned venues in England. The series is expected to serve as a key opportunity for both teams to fine-tune their combinations and assess squad strength before the global tournament.
The opening ODI will be played on May 15 at Southampton, followed by the second match in Manchester on May 19. The third ODI is scheduled for May 21 in Leeds, while the fourth fixture will take place on May 23 at Chester-le-Street.
The fifth and final ODI of the series will be played in Cardiff on May 26, concluding Pakistan’s limited-overs tour of England.
The upcoming bilateral series is expected to be of significant importance as both Pakistan and England continue preparations for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, which is scheduled to be held from October 4 to November 21, 2027, across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
In this regard, the five-match contest is likely to provide players and team management with an ideal platform to evaluate performances, finalize playing combinations, and adapt to high-level international competition.
Pakistan occupies the fifth position, while England is ranked seventh. The series is therefore expected to feature two competitive sides aiming to strengthen their preparations for one of cricket’s biggest events.
Pakistan last toured England for an ODI series in 2021, when the two teams contested a three-match series. The 2027 tour marks Pakistan’s return to England for a bilateral ODI assignment and is anticipated to attract significant interest from cricket fans in both countries.
The PCB expressed confidence that the series will offer quality competitive cricket and contribute positively to both teams’ World Cup preparations.
With five matches scheduled at major English venues, the series is expected to provide an important test of consistency, adaptability, and squad depth as the countdown to the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup continues.
