ISLAMABAD: Noreen Niazi, the sister of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has submitted a written response to a notice issued by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
In this regard, Noreen Niazi submitted her reply through her legal counsel. In the written response, she stated that the notice does not clearly specify the allegations or the legal provisions under which the inquiry has been initiated.
She maintained that the notice lacks sufficient particulars to enable her to respond comprehensively.
Niazi assured the authorities of her willingness to cooperate fully with the investigation in accordance with the law.
She asserted that the allegations against her are unfounded and requested the NCCIA to provide complete details of the accusations, including the relevant legal sections invoked in the notice.
The NCCIA had earlier issued the notice seeking an explanation over statements shared on social media that were described as false and derogatory towards state institutions.
The agency requested her response as part of its ongoing inquiry into the matter.
The notice follows public attention over comments made by Noreen Niazi during a recent interview, in which she criticized the Pakistan Armed Forces while discussing what she referred to as the “Battle of Truth” (“Maarka-e-Haq”).
In this regard, Niazi alleged that the events surrounding the matter involved coordination between the Pakistan Armed Forces and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She further claimed that India refrained from attacking Pakistan at the request of Israel because, according to her allegations, Pakistan was moving towards recognizing Israel.
She also alleged that the situation had been orchestrated in coordination with Prime Minister Modi, claiming that India had the capability to act decisively but chose not to do so due to what she described as Israeli influence.
These statements have drawn significant public attention and became the basis for the NCCIA seeking her explanation.
The NCCIA has not publicly commented further on the status of the inquiry following the submission of Niazi’s response. It remains to be seen whether the agency will seek additional clarification or proceed with further legal action in accordance with applicable laws.
