PML-N, PTI Agree to Hold Talks at Speaker’s Office Today

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development aimed at reducing political tensions, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have agreed to meet for talks at the office of the National Assembly Speaker today.

The breakthrough came during Geo News’ Capital Talk program, where Minister of State Barrister Aqeel Malik extended a formal invitation to the PTI for dialogue. PTI leader Shafqat Abbas Awan promptly accepted the offer, making the program’s host, Hamid Mir, a witness to the commitment.

Barrister Aqeel Malik assured that he would contact Speaker Ayaz Sadiq today and request him to initiate immediate talks with the PTI leadership.

Speaking on the program, Shafqat Abbas Awan confirmed that he would proceed to the Speaker’s office or Committee Room No. 5 for negotiations. He added that Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Raja Nasir Abbas, and other senior PTI leaders would also participate in the dialogue.

The development marks a potential thaw in the ongoing political stalemate between the two major parties, with both sides expressing willingness to engage in constructive discussions.
