US Missiles Reportedly Target Chabahar Port Facilities Used by India

India confirms No Further Funding for Chabahar Port

TEHRAN : Explosions were reported in several Iranian cities on Thursday, including the southern port of Chabahar and the southwestern city of Ahvaz, according to Iranian state-affiliated media.

Iran’s official Mehr News Agency confirmed that blast sounds were heard in Ahvaz, which lies near the Iraqi border. The city has been repeatedly targeted by US military operations since tensions between Washington and Tehran escalated earlier this month.

In Chabahar, located along the Gulf of Oman, Iranian media reported three explosions in quick succession. Local sources said US missiles struck a maritime surveillance tower in the area, a facility used for coastal security and search-and-rescue operations supporting local fishermen.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces have launched a second wave of air strikes against Iranian targets. No further details on the scope or locations of the new strikes were immediately provided.

Iranian authorities have not yet issued an official casualty or damage assessment. The reported strikes come amid heightened regional volatility following recent US military movements in the Middle East.
