AJK Education Authorities Issue Safety Directives Amid JAAC Protest Fears

MUZAFFARABAD :  The Departments of Elementary and Secondary Education (E&SE) and Higher Education (HE) have issued strict instructions to all government and private educational institutions in response to an alleged plan by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) to involve students in a sit-in at Rawalakot.

 

In an official directive, the Education Department has instructed heads of institutions to actively discourage parents from allowing their children to participate in any protest activities. The department emphasized that students wearing school and college uniforms at demonstration sites could face significant safety risks .

 

The Education Department further warned that strict disciplinary and legal action would be taken against the administration of any educational institution found to have students participating in such protests. Institutions have been directed to ensure student safety and take effective measures to confine students to academic activities. The department reiterated that the primary responsibility of schools and colleges is to provide a peaceful and stable learning environment .

 

This directive comes amid heightened tensions following recent clashes and the ongoing crackdown on JAAC activists across Azad Jammu and Kashmir .
