ISLAMABAD: Pakistani television host, actor and veteran radio broadcaster Tauseeq Haider and senior actress and television presenter Farah Saadia have dismissed viral social media claims that they had secretly married, describing the reports as false and AI-generated.
The rumors spread after edited images and videos circulated widely on social media, prompting the two celebrities to publicly deny the claims.
Responding in a video, Haider joked that they had hoped to announce the “news” themselves but social media content creators had beaten them to it.
“We wanted to be the ones to tell everyone,” he said with a laugh. “But our YouTubers are so professional that they made the news go viral before we could. I woke up this morning only to discover that I had married Farah—and even I didn’t know about it.”
Farah Saadia also addressed the rumors humorously, saying the AI-generated images were well made.
“The AI photo was actually quite good. Tauseeq looked very handsome in it,” she said. “Now we deserve a share as well. If someone earned 200,000 rupees from that video, they should at least send each of us 50,000.”
She clarified that she and Haider are close friends and urged people creating fake AI-generated images to use their skills for more constructive purposes.
“They should spend their time on something positive and meaningful instead of creating misleading content,” she said.
The incident highlights growing concerns in Pakistan over the misuse of artificial intelligence to create convincing fake images and videos of public figures, fueling misinformation and viral rumors online.
Haider is one of Pakistan’s best-known television and radio personalities. He began his broadcasting career as a newsreader at Radio Pakistan in 1987 and later became one of the pioneering voices of the country’s first FM radio service before moving into television hosting and acting.
Farah Saadia is a veteran actress and television host who rose to prominence with the hit television drama Bandhan. She later established herself as a leading television personality through numerous drama serials and years of hosting popular morning shows.
