PPP, PML-N Consult over Reshuffle in Balochistan Cabinet

ISLAMABAD: Two major ruling coalition partners, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), have agreed to begin consultations on a possible reshuffle of the Balochistan provincial cabinet, party sources said on Tuesday.

The development followed high-level contacts between the leaderships of the two parties, which discussed matters related to the provincial government.

According to the sources, senior leaders from both sides are expected to meet soon to finalize proposals for changes to the cabinet.

The PML-N has nominated National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to represent the party in the consultations. The PPP has named senior leader Aijaz Jakhrani as its representative.

The two leaders will hold consultations and prepare recommendations on the proposed cabinet changes. They will then submit separate reports to their respective party leaderships.

The proposed reshuffle could involve changes to ministerial portfolios held by both the PPP and the PML-N. Some provincial ministers could be replaced, while new ministers and advisers may be inducted, the sources said.

According to the sources, the cabinet reshuffle is expected to take place within the next month.

The PPP and the PML-N are coalition partners in both the federal government and the Balochistan provincial administration.
