CALIFORNIA: The United States Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bomber aircraft crashed at Edwards Air Force Base in California on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at the air base located north of Los Angeles. In a statement shared on social media, Edwards Air Force Base confirmed that the B-52 bomber crashed on the airfield shortly after takeoff at approximately 11:20 a.m. local time.

In this regard, the statement said emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the crash site and began carrying out rescue and recovery operations.

The B-52 Stratofortress is one of the most recognizable long-range strategic bombers in the United States Air Force fleet. The aircraft has served for decades and remains an important component of the country’s military capabilities.
