Banned Joint Action Committee Funded by External Forces: Rana Sana

Militants in Balochistan Are Enemies of the State: Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD:  Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that while peaceful protests and long marches are a right, the government will not allow armed violence or the occupation of Muzaffarabad.

Speaking on Geo News’ program Jirga, the PM’s aide warned that the movement for Kashmir has been nurtured by the sacrifices of millions of martyrs and cannot be wasted on the demand of any committee.

“They were offered all kinds of deals, but they kept rejecting them,” Rana Sanaullah said, without naming the group directly.

He alleged that the banned Joint Action Committee is funded and supported by external forces. According to Sanaullah, the committee initially did not demand the abolition of seats reserved for Muhajirin (migrants). He further claimed that the action committee also demanded the annulment of the accession to Pakistan through affidavits from its members.

The special assistant reiterated that peaceful political activity is acceptable, but any attempt to occupy Muzaffarabad through armed violence would be met with a firm response.

Rana Sanaullah’s full interview with senior journalist Saleem Safi on Jirga will be broadcast on Geo News at 10 PM tonight.
