Balochistan Home Minister Visits Family of Wadat Colony Victims, Vows Justice

QUETTA: Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove visited the family affected by the recent Wahdat Colony tragedy and expressed his condolences over the deaths.

During the visit, he offered prayers for the deceased and conveyed the provincial government’s solidarity with the bereaved family.

Langove said he was deeply saddened by the incident and assured the family that the Balochistan government would stand by them during this difficult time.

“We will not leave the family alone,” he said.

The minister said authorities had arrested the individuals nominated in the case and had initiated departmental proceedings against them.

He added that investigators were examining all aspects of the incident to establish the facts and ensure that no angle was overlooked.

Langove said authorities would take legal action against all those found responsible and that no one would be considered above the law.

He said the government was employing all available legal and administrative measures to ensure justice for the affected family and remained committed to taking the case to its logical conclusion.
It is pertinent to mention here that Asif Khan, a government employee in Wahdat Colonyman shot dead his wife and four children before killing himself in Quetta after recording a video alleging neighbours of forcing him to leave the government residence.

He recorded a video before the incident and said he and his family were suffering severe mental torture by his “neighbors,” who were allegedly forcing him to leave the government residence and threatening him with dire consequences.

Police later detained two suspects named in the video during the course of the investigation.
