KP CM inaugurates Kabutar Chowk Underpass

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, on Saturday inaugurated the Kabutar Chowk Underpass on Dilazak Road, describing the project as an important step toward improving urban infrastructure and easing traffic congestion in Peshawar.

The chief minister said that the provincial government considers the development of Peshawar and the construction of modern infrastructure among its top priorities.

He noted that several large-scale development projects are currently underway to improve the city’s road network and public facilities.

In this regard, Sohail Afridi stated that the government is committed to transforming Peshawar into a modern and well-connected city through significant investments and timely completion of development schemes.

He said that an investment of Rs200 billion in the provincial capital would bring about a visible transformation in the city’s landscape and infrastructure.

“When an investment of Rs200 billion is made in Peshawar, the city’s outlook will change entirely,” the chief minister said. He expressed confidence that residents would soon witness clear and positive changes in various sectors, including transportation, road infrastructure and public services.

The chief minister further said that funds for all major development projects in Peshawar had already been allocated, ensuring that work would continue without interruption.

He focused on that the government remains determined to complete these projects within the stipulated timeframe.

Afridi said that improved roads, better traffic management and the provision of modern urban facilities would significantly enhance the quality of life for citizens.

He added that reducing traffic congestion and upgrading civic infrastructure would contribute to economic activity and provide greater convenience to the public.

The chief minister also referred to Gilgit-Baltistan, expressing optimism about the region’s future. He said that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan would stand by truth and justice and continue to support positive change and development.

The inauguration of the Kabutar Chowk Underpass is being viewed as part of the provincial government’s broader efforts to modernize Peshawar’s infrastructure and address long-standing urban challenges.
