ISLAMABAD : The social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has permanently suspended the account “Balochistan Facts,” which was known for disseminating controversial and false content about Balochistan province. Officials have confirmed that the account was being operated with sponsorship from India to spread anti-Pakistan propaganda.
According to sources, the account had been systematically sharing misleading information, fabricated narratives, and incendiary content aimed at destabilising the region and faking unrest in Balochistan. After multiple complaints and a review of the account’s activity, X administration took decisive action and permanently removed the handle.
Security analysts noted that the account was part of a larger, state-backed disinformation network designed to amplify separatist rhetoric and create international pressure on Pakistan. “Such accounts pose a direct threat to regional peace,” an official said. “The removal of ‘Balochistan Facts’ is a significant blow to India’s covert influence operations.”
The development follows similar crackdowns on dozens of fake or propaganda accounts linked to hostile intelligence agencies. No immediate comment was available from X’s policy team, but platform guidelines prohibit the use of services to spread deliberate falsehoods or coordinate inauthentic behaviour.
