RAWALPINDI: Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first against Australia in the opening One-Day International (ODI) of the three-match series in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Pakistan handed ODI debuts to Arafat Minhas, while young players Moaz Sadaqat, Ghazi Ghori and Abdul Samad also earned places in the playing XI.
The match marks a major milestone for Pakistan cricket. It is Pakistan’s 1,000th ODI, making it only the third team in history to reach the landmark.
Pakistan enters the series with confidence after winning its previous two ODI series against Australia.
Both teams are looking for a strong start in a contest that could shape the outcome of the three-match series.
