QUETTA: A train service between Quetta and Peshawar in resumed on Saturday after being shut for three days due to unavoidable circumstances.
According to the Pakistan Railways, train operations in Balochistan restored after a three-day suspension. Under the revised schedule, the Jaffar Express will depart Quetta for Peshawar on Saturday at its regular time.
Railway officials said the return service from Peshawar to Quetta will also resume as scheduled. The move restores rail connectivity between Balochistan and other parts of the country.
According to media reports, train services to and from Quetta remained suspended for the past three days due to unavoidable circumstances. Authorities did not dispatch the Jaffar Express from Quetta on Friday. They also turned back the train arriving from Peshawar at Jacobabad.
Officials had temporarily suspended the Bolan Mail and Chaman Passenger services as well.
The disruption also affected some trains operating from Karachi. The Tezgam Express departed at 1:30 am. instead of its scheduled 5:30 p.m. departure. The delay prompted passengers to stage a protest at Karachi Cantonment Railway Station.

The Sukkur Express also experienced significant delays, according to reports.
