Dostain Domki Exposes Multi-Billion Scam

QUETTA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator and former Federal Minister Mir Dostain Domki has uncovered a corruption scandal, revealing that a summary has been forwarded to withdraw billions of rupees under the guise of purchasing air coolers for heatwave-affected regions in Balochistan.
In an official statement, Senator Domki criticized the move as a blatant attempt at nepotism and embezzlement, pointing out that temperatures in Sibi and other scorching plains of Balochistan routinely soar between 40 to 52 degrees Celsius—conditions so extreme that even air conditioners fail to function effectively, rendering air coolers completely useless.

He alleged that just as over six billion rupees meant for the Ramadan relief package were plundered through handpicked beneficiaries, these newly released funds, estimated at around four billion rupees, would similarly line the pockets of corrupt officials rather than providing any genuine relief to the public.

The Senator emphasized that while Balochistan is Pakistan’s largest province by area and richest in natural resources and minerals, its residents continue to be deprived of basic amenities such as clean drinking water, employment, healthcare, education, and proper infrastructure.

Instead of utilizing the province’s vast wealth to elevate the public’s standard of living, massive funds are consistently diverted into corrupt practices, causing regional conditions to deteriorate to the point where road and rail travel have become highly unsafe.

He condemned the ruling elite for chanting slogans of false progress while intentionally mismanaging resources, and he strongly urged the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and upper echelons of power to take immediate notice of this wasteful expenditure and halt the plundering of public funds.
