WASHINGTON: The United States military has launched new strikes against an Iranian military site that American officials deemed a direct threat to US forces and commercial maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. A US official confirmed the operation following reports from the Iranian news agency, Fars, which stated that three explosions were heard east of the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas at approximately 1:30 AM local time.
