ISLAMABAD: Australian captain Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Pakistan due to an injury, with Josh Inglis stepped up to lead the visiting side.
Cricket Australia confirmed the development, stating that Marsh was sidelined due to an ankle injury and that wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis will take over the captaincy duties for the series.
According to Cricket Australia, Marsh had previously missed the final match for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.
He will remain in Perth for treatment and further evaluation, while a decision regarding his availability for the upcoming white-ball tour of Bangladesh will be made at a later date.
The three-match ODI series is set to begin on May 30 in Rawalpindi, followed by the remaining two matches in Lahore on June 2 and June 4.
