ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated US President Donald Trump for his “extraordinary efforts” aimed at promoting peace and stability in the region.
In this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said President Trump held a “very useful and productive” telephone conversation earlier in the day with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Türkiye, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Pakistan to discuss the evolving regional situation and ongoing peace initiatives.
The prime minister said Pakistan was represented in the important diplomatic engagement by Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose role and efforts during the entire peace process were highly appreciated.
“I congratulate President Donald Trump on his extraordinary efforts to pursue peace,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated, adding that the discussions provided a valuable opportunity for participating countries to exchange views on the current regional developments and identify ways to move the peace efforts forward.

The telephonic consultation focused on promoting dialogue, reducing tensions and ensuring lasting peace in the region through collective diplomatic engagement.
He focused on that regional cooperation and sustained communication among friendly countries remained essential for achieving long-term stability.
However, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting all sincere efforts aimed at peace and reconciliation. He noted that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive and responsible role in facilitating dialogue among regional stakeholders.
“Pakistan will continue its peace efforts with utmost sincerity,” the prime minister said, expressing hope that the next round of talks could be hosted in Pakistan in the near future.
