QUETTA: Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said on Saturday that education reforms in Balochistan introduced by the provincial government are beginning to show positive results.
He said over 717,000 children have enrolled in public schools across the province over the past two years.
In a post on social media platform X, Bugti said the school dropout rate has declined by 5 percent, while student retention has increased by 11 percent.
He said these figures reflect growing public confidence in the government’s education policies.
The chief minister said the government has prioritised the rehabilitation of non-functional schools and restored 3,778 closed schools across Balochistan.
He said the move has brought thousands of children back into the education system and improved learning access in remote areas.
Bugti said education remains central to the province’s development and the future of its youth.
He said the government is taking serious and practical steps to ensure equal access to quality education for all children.
He warned that negligence, corruption, or incompetence in the education sector will not be tolerated.
He added that the government has introduced a monitoring system to ensure teacher attendance, school functionality, and educational standards.
Bugti said the provincial government will continue reforms to build a modern education system aligned with contemporary needs.
