High-Profile Terrorist Commander Eliminated in Operation

QUETTA: In a major breakthrough for security operations, security forces have neutralized a top commander of the outlawed Fitna al-Khawarij group, identified as Baseer.

The high-value target was the mastermind and operational chief behind the September 30, 2025, attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) North Balochistan Headquarters in Quetta.

While 15 other operatives linked to that specific assault were neutralized in prior engagements, Baseer had evaded capture until now.

Intelligence tracking intensified following a specialized operation on the night of May 14–15 in the Shaban area, which resulted in the elimination of 33 terrorists and exposed Baseer as the commander of the active Shaban training camp.

On May 20, security forces successfully closed in on his position, neutralizing Baseer during the encounter and capturing one of his close associates alive.

Baseer, the son of known militant Noorullah and a resident of Gulistan, Chaman, had a history of orchestrating high-profile assaults.

His operational record included coordinating a suicide attack on a wing headquarters in Chaman, an assault on an FC post in Loralai, and deploying weaponized quadcopters against security installations.

Officials state that the elimination of this top commander delivers a definitive blow to the network’s operational capabilities in the region, with tracking operations continuing to target remaining elements.
