RAWALPINDI: Security forces have conducted a major counter-terrorism operation, resulting in the elimination of an estimated 25 to 28 terrorists.
The operation, conducted under the command of the 7 Division, has led to the recovery of 12 bodies of the neutralized miscreants along with a cache of weapons.
According to operational updates, an additional seven to eight bodies of the deceased terrorists remain visible in the targeted sector following long-range engagements by various military units, including the Commando and Frontier Force battalions. Meanwhile, security personnel successfully apprehended two suspects found in possession of illegal weapons during a snap checking operation.
Special forces have successfully completed the sanitization of Bobali village.
During the clearance operation, troops discovered and destroyed multiple underground bunkers used by the terrorists.
Furthermore, specialized units are scheduled to carry out the controlled demolition of a local mosque structure that was being utilized by the miscreants as a command center.
Bomb Disposal Units have also detected and safely neutralized 11 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), effectively averting major terror threats in the region.
The security forces remain engaged on the ground to ensure the complete clearance of the area.
