QUETTA: In a major relief for citizens ahead of the upcoming religious festivities, the Balochistan Home Department has announced a relaxation in the ongoing lockdown restrictions on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to an official notification issued by the department, the eased measures will remain in effect until June 1. The decision aims to facilitate residents in making necessary preparations and celebrating the festival of sacrifice.
In line with this directive, all shops, business centres, shopping malls, and markets across the province will remain open during this period. The move is expected to provide a significant boost to commercial activities and enable people to complete their Eid shopping without hindrance.
It is worth recalling that the federal government had previously imposed a nationwide lockdown as part of its energy conservation policy. The Balochistan government’s latest decision represents a provincial deviation from those federal guidelines, tailored specifically to accommodate religious observance.
Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while availing of the relaxations
