ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member national women’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the upcoming tri-series in Ireland. The board retained Fatima Sana as captain.

Five players will make their debut appearance at a T20 World Cup. The newcomers are Aiman Fatima, Natalia Pervaiz, Rameen Shamim, Saira Jabeen and Tasmia Rubab.

Pakistan will also feature in a tri-series in Ireland from May 28 to June 4. The series will include hosts Ireland and the West Indies.

Pakistan will open its World Cup campaign against India in Birmingham on June 14. The team will later face South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia and the Netherlands in the group stage.

The semi-finals will take place on June 30 and July 2, while the final will be played at Lord’s Cricket Ground on July 5.

Fatima Sana will lead Pakistan for a second consecutive T20 World Cup. The tournament will mark her third appearance in the event. The squad includes a mix of senior and young players.

The PCB appointed Wahab Riaz as mentor and head coach. The support staff also includes Abdul Razzaq, Umaid Asif, Abdul Majeed and Imran Farhat.

The PCB said Pakistan’s recent 3-0 clean sweep against Zimbabwe helped the team prepare for the upcoming events.

The board also named reserve players to strengthen the squad in case of injuries or other requirements during the tournament.
