QUETTA: Another female police constable was martyred by the militants associated with Fitna al Hindustan on Saturday. She becomes the second female policewoman martyred in terrorist attack.
Last month, two police personnel, including a woman constable Malik Naz, were killed and three others sustained injuries in a shootout with militants in in the Baghbana area of Khuzdar.
Reacting to the incident, Balochistan government spokesperson Babar Yousafzai said on Saturday that “Fitna al Hindustan” has targeted women, teachers, and innocent civilians in the province.
He said militants killed a female police officer, Constable Shakeela, in a morning attack, calling it the “second martyred daughter of Balochistan.”
Yousafzai said militants opened fire in front of children and described the incident as an act of “open terrorism.” He said attacks on women and children reflect a cowardly mindset.
He added that the group shows no respect for women and no regard for the innocence of children.
The spokesperson said Constable Shakeela sacrificed her life for the country and praised her courage. He said her sacrifice would not go in vain.
He said the people of Balochistan and security forces remain united against terrorism. He added that militant elements are approaching their “logical end.”
Yousafzai said militants fired 31 rounds in an attack on an innocent family, calling it the peak of brutality. He said female personnel continue to show strong morale and the fight against terrorism will continue.
He further alleged that “Fitna al Hindustan” wants to deprive the Baloch people of education. He said militants target women officers and teachers as part of a broader campaign of terror.
He said militants killed Professor Ghamkhwar Hayat in another attack on the same day.
He also expressed concern that militants may have abducted Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University Dr Razaq Sabir and Dr Manzoor.

Yousafzai said terrorists want to shut down educational institutions in Balochistan. He said their goal is to spread fear, ignorance, and instability.
He said the people of Balochistan reject the agenda of terrorism and extremism. He added that civilians, teachers, and security forces remain united against violence.
