LAHORE: Actress Mishi Khan has strongly reacted to a viral video showing Maulana Tariq Jamil refusing to shake hands with a child.
Mishi Khan said she felt deeply saddened after watching the video, adding that the child may have been waiting eagerly for a chance to meet and shake hands with the religious scholar.
She questioned what kind of emotional impact such rejection could leave on a young child.
She further stated that people try to follow the teachings and advice of Maulana Tariq Jamil, but if he himself does not act according to those values, it could set a poor example.
The actress also referred to another recent video in which Maulana Tariq Jamil warmly met transgender dancer Mehak Malik, patted her on the head, and gave her time for a meeting.
Mishi Khan remarked that if he could show kindness there, meeting a child warmly would not have been difficult either.
